AEFI – Association of Italian Exhibitions and Fairs

AEFI – Association of Italian Exhibitions and Fairs – represents the interests of the national trade fair system, has 50 members with 42 districts where more than 1,000 events are held each year on a total exhibition area of 4.2 million square metres, and 10 organisers.

The Association, a non-profit organisation, aims to promote the development of the Italian national field system in its cultural, economic and productive evolution, and to represent it, within the limits of its statute, in relations with Institutions, Administrations, economic, political and social Organisations, at a national, European and international level.

As part of its national representation, AEFI maintains relations with national, regional and local authorities to develop the sector’s needs, with particular reference to transparency, participations and IMU, and to draw the institutions’ attention to the importance of trade fairs as a lever of Italy’s industrial policy.

In relation to international representation AEFI, directly or through its associates, is present in several international sector bodies such as: UFI – Union of International Fairs; EMECA – European Association of Large Exhibition Districts; EEIA – European Exhibition Industry Alliance, born from the union between the European Chapter of UFI and EMECA; CEFA – Central European Fair Alliance, which groups the Fairs of international importance in south-eastern Central Europe.

AEFI also informs exhibitors and visitors about the dates, locations and types of Italian events: every year the Association publishes the official calendar of internationally recognised Italian trade fairs and statistical data with the Ministry of Productive Activities. This constitutes a worldwide promotion tool.
